Mackerel are a superb fish and offer fantastic value. These underrated fish are available all year round but are at their best in the summer. The greyish flesh is rich in flavour and is best grilled or baked. A sharp sauce will compliment this fish. Mackerel is also a very oily fish and so? good for smoking or making into a pate.
