Monkfish are possibly the uglyest fish in the sea and has a huge head that accounts for half of the fish’s weight. Monkfish tails are a fantastic meat, with a firm, meaty texture and a taste similar to langoustine or scampi. Great for searing then roasting, Monkfish will take on strong flavours and herbs well.
Low in oil, Monkfish are available all year round. The tails can be pan fried, grilled, roasted or steamed.
